Back Cover Media Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct applies to all volunteers, staff, guest speakers, mentors, and collaborators.
Back Cover Media Pty Ltd is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional environment that empowers people, especially those from marginalised communities, to thrive. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected from everyone involved in our initiatives, including Thrive: Multicultural Women’s Festival and The Back Cover Youth Creatives Training Hub.
1. Respect and Inclusivity
•Treat everyone with dignity, fairness and respect, regardless of background, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, age, religion or socio-economic status.
•Create safe spaces where marginalised voices are actively supported and heard.
•Bullying, harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
2. Professionalism
•Arrive prepared and on time.
•Communicate with courtesy and integrity.
•Honour all commitments and timelines.
•Represent Back Cover Media in a respectful and responsible manner.
3. Empowerment Through Education
•Share knowledge in ways that are accessible, inspiring, and inclusive.
•Encourage independent thinking and confidence in others.
•Support participants in reaching their full potential.
4. Ethical Standards
•Act with honesty and integrity.
•Maintain transparency in communication and decision-making.
•Respect the confidentiality of private or sensitive information.
5. Collaboration and Community Building
•Work cooperatively and respectfully across cultures and perspectives.
•Be open to feedback and new ideas.
•Help build an environment where all voices are valued.
6. Creativity and Innovation
•Support creative risk-taking and learning through trial and error.
•Share original insights and approaches.
•Respect the intellectual property and creative contributions of others.
7. Responsibility and Accountability
•Take responsibility for your actions.
•Own mistakes and learn from them.
•Be dependable and follow through on commitments.
•Be accountable to the community, the team, and the shared mission.
8. Continuous Learning
•Stay current with relevant trends, tools, and ideas.
•Share learnings with the community.
•Learn from each other regardless of age, experience, or background.
Enforcement
Back Cover Media expects all volunteers, staff, guest speakers, mentors, and collaborators to follow this Code of Conduct at all times.
Any behaviour that undermines these standards, including harassment, bullying, discrimination, unsafe conduct, or breaches of confidentiality, will not be tolerated. Failure to uphold this Code may result in removal from the program, event, or partnership at the discretion of Back Cover Media.
